I-75 was closed due to a giant rockslide on the best part of the route, so we got to take the scenic detour on US25W.
That’s when I came upon this HOLY SHIT THAT’S SKETCHY scene.
It’s a beautiful drive if you ever get a chance, just don’t let your imagination take hold when you see the rock overhanging the road.
36.5509462,-84.0726156 is the location.
Also; do any Oppponauts around Knoxville own a green first-gen Ford Bronco? Because I was the guy in the silver Mazda5 giving you the emphatic thumbs up earlier today. Also, my oldest daughter wants your truck.

Cool shot...the Deep South is famous for these “roofs” and most of them are incredibly solid. This sandstone (especially the metamorphic sandstones in parts of East TN) is among the oldest exposed rock on earth, so most of the weak bits have been eroded away. For comparison, I'm talking 200+ million years old vs. about 8-9 million years for the Grand Canyon.
